School Based Mandatory Uniform Policy 2009-2010

Shirt/Blouses
Uniform brand shirts that are ANY SOLID COLOR short or long-sleeved oxford or knit polo style shirts for both boys and girls. NO LOGOS. All shirts must be tucked in.

Shorts/Pants/Jumpers/Skorts/Skirts/Capris
Solid color, uniform brand shorts, pants, skirts, skorts, jumpers or capris.
Bottoms can be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee.
All bottoms must be worn at the waist.
All clothing with belt loops must be accompanied with a solid color belt.
Absolutely no baggies, leggings, lycra, denims or stretch knit fabric bottoms are permitted. Bottoms may not drag on the ground.

Sweaters/Jackets
Plain navy blue sweatshirt jackets with or without a school logo are the only jackets permitted to be worn inside the building.  These items can be worn in class. Hats, gloves, mittens, and non-uniform jackets or coats are only permitted OUTSIDE on cold days.  Layering long sleeved shirts under short sleeved polo shirts is not permitted. Outer wear may not routinely be worn tied around the waist.

Color Choices
Shirts/blouses. ANY solid color. Navy blue and khaki are the ONLY color choices for bottoms.
 

Hosiery
Only solid color socks or tights may be worn.
 

Shoes
Shoes must be closed toe, closed heel and no higher than ½ inch. Sneakers or leather shoes
are best. No sandals, platform shoes or boots are permitted.
 

School T-shirts
School T-shirts, as approved by the administration, may be worn any day of the week. The school shirt must be in good condition.

In addition to the School Based Mandatory Uniform Policy, the District Student Dress Code stated in the Code of Conduct is still enforced.

What not to wear: T-shirts promoting violence, sex, drugs, or alcohol, or television shows or movies that promote the same. Lycra, denim, or spandex fabric bottoms or tops are not permitted. Clothing with logos. Striped, checked, patterned clothing. Jeans, jean shorts, shirts without sleeves. Sandals, platforms, boots or shoes higher than ½ inch. Headgear such as bandanas, triangle scarves and wide headbands. Temporary tattoos may not be displayed.

Who must wear it: There is a mandatory uniform dress code established for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Students enrolling after the school year has begun will be loaned clothing based on need for 3 days in order to assemble an acceptable wardrobe. Parents are asked to launder and return any borrowed uniform worn. Students arriving at school out of uniform will change to appropriate clothing for the day or call a parent to bring appropriate clothing to school. Parents of students violating the dress code will be called to bring appropriate clothing to school.

Las Normas de Uniforme Obligatorio

Camisas/Blusas

Qualquier camisa de color sólido de manga larga o corta del estilo de polo o oxford para chicas y chicos. Camisa o blusa del estilo de Peter Pan  (con cuello elegante) para chicas. SIN LOGOS

Camisas deben ser metidas por dentro.

Pantalones largos/cortos/Jumpers/Skorts

Pantalones plisados largos o cortos “walkshorts” de un color sólido para chicas y chicos.  SIN LOGOS

“Skorts” y “Jumpers”  de un color sólido para chicas. SIN LOGOS

Elecciones de color para pantalones largos o cortos, skorts o jumpers: khaki, y azul marino.

Pantalones deben ir a la cintura. Pantalones cortos deben ir no más de 5 pulgadas encima de la  rodilla.

Toda ropa con lazos de cinturón se debe acompañar con un cinturón de un solo color.

Suéters/Chaquetas

Chalecos, abrigos, suéters o chaquetas de un color sólido para las mañanas frescas. Sombreros, guantes y chaquetas o abrigo pesados se permiten también en días muy fríos.  SIN LOGOS

Elección de Colores

Camisas/Blusas: Qualquier color sólido

Pantalones largos/cortos/Jumpers/Skorts:  khaki, azul marino, verde monte (“hunter green”), o negro

Estudiantes pueden usar combinaciones de uniforme.

Zapatos

Zapatos deben ser “tenis” o zapatos de cuero/piel, cerrardos y sin tacones altos.  NO son aceptables los zapatos de sandalias ni zapatos de plataforma.

Camiseta de Escuela

“Camisetas de la Escuela” que se venderán durante el año se pueden usar cada martes (T-Shirt Tuesday) len lugar de la camisa de uniforme. 

Todos los otros requisitos del vestir en nuestra guía de estudiante y alineado con el Código de Vestido de Estudiante de Distrito permanecen en efecto.

Qué NO usar:  Camisetas que promueven: violencia, sexo, drogas, o alcohol. Camisetas de peliculas de televisión o películas que promueven el mismo. Pantalones de Capri, “Baggies”, “Cargo”, pantalones de vaqueros/mahon, lycra ni spandex. Ropa con logos. Zapatos de sandalias o plataforma o tacones mas alto de ½ pulgada, y botas.

Quién lo tiene que usar:  Es un uniforme obligatorio establecido para Kindergarten a Quinto Grado.  Estudiantes que se matriculan después que el año de escuela ha comenzado tendrá un período de gracia de 3 días para obedecer con el código de uniforme. Estudiantes que llegan a la escuela fuera de uniforme serán dados una nota escrita de la infracción. Esta nota debe ser firmada por el padre y regresada el día siguiente a la escuela. Los padres de estudiantes que violan el código de vestido constantemente se llamarán para traer la ropa apropiada a la escuela.
